A WORD ABOUT OUR WORSHIP
1. Why do we CLAP our hands?
Psalm 47:1 tells us to “CLAP your hands, ALL ye people, shout to God with the voice of triumph.”
2. Why do we STAND when we sing?
Revelation 7:9-10 states that “a great multitude which no one could count from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, STANDING before the throne and before THE LAMB clothed in white robes and palm branches were in their hands and they cry out with a loud voice, saying Salvation to our God who sits on the Throne and to the Lamb.
3. Why do we LIFT OUR HANDS in worship? Psalm 63:4, “I will lift up my HANDS to you, O Lord.”
4. Why do we offer AUDIBLE PRAISE in our Worship? Psalm 103:1 states that we are to “bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.”
5. Why do we SING BOTH Traditional Hymns and Contemporary Praise & Worship Songs? Colossians 3:16 “teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs with thankfulness in your hearts unto God.”
6. Why do we use various MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS in our worship? Psalms 150:3-5 lists eight instruments to be used in worship: Trumpet, Flute, Harp, Timbres, Dance, Stringed Instruments, Loud cymbals, Lute.
7. Why do we PRAY IN ONE ACCORD for special needs around the altar?
Acts 1:14, 2:1 says that they “ALL continued in one accord, they were ALL in one place, one accord’ praying together.
8. Why do we ANOINT WITH OIL for the sick?
James 5:1-15 instructs us to “call for the elders of the church to pray and anoint with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith will save the sick, they will be raised up and their sins will be forgiven.”
9. Why do we COLLECT MONEY in our worship service?
I Corinthians 16:1 instructs us “now concerning the collection for the saints, on the FIRST DAY of EVERY WEEK each one of you is to put aside and save as he/she have prospered.”
10. Why do we PREACH AND TEACH in our worship service?
II Timothy 4:2 “PREACH THE WORD, be ready in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with great patience and instruction.”
11. Why do we WAVE FLAGS when we worship? Flags make a powerful visual statement of our Praise and are a witness to the spiritual realm. They are biblical and bring unity and glory to our God.
