Our Pastor, Dr. Ken Gibson and his wife Wanda. Dr. Gibson has been married to Wanda Durden Gibson for the past 50 years, they have two children and five grandchildren. Dr. Gibson has a passion to teach God's Word and to equip, encourage, empower lay persons within the congregation to do the work of ministry. Dr. Gibson joined Upper Room in October of 2020 and is looking forward to what the Lord has in store for the future.

Dr. Kenneth R. Gibson is a follower/servant of Jesus Christ, who was saved at the age of 13 and filled with the Holy Spirit while attending Messiah University where he earned a BA in Religion. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio in Old Testament studies and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky in church growth and evangelism. He was called to pastoral ministry at the age of 24 and has served ever since in pastoral ministry, serving congregations in Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania. He has also served as a Church Developer over a nine state area assisting congregations to evangelize and grow.

Dr. Gibson has served as prayer leader for ACTION of PA, serving as Chairman of the First Capitol York National Day of Prayer Committee and Chaplain for Conservative Christian Center. Dr. Gibson is also the founder and Dean of Keystone Bible Institute (KBI).

KBI is a Non-Denominational educational religious training center with two campuses. The West Campus is located at Pathway Community Church, 1731 West Philadelphia Street, York, Pennsylvania and the East Campus is located here at the Upper Room Missionary Church, 1401 Williams Road, East York. Day and evening classes are offered at both campuses and the KBI curriculum is also used in some of our Discipleship Training classes here at the Upper Room.
